All three races were generously sponsored by the U.A.E. Equestrian and Racing Federation (EQUAFED.ae) and Nakheel Corporation.

The day's opener Moscow Cup brought together horses aged 3 years and up at the six furlongs distance, to decide who's the best sprinter of the season.The previous sprint races' form produced two clear favorites: a well-known to the Moscow public 5yo Drager bred and owned by Khrenovoe Stud, and season “fresher”- French import – 3yo filly Al Sakba, owned by the Jockey Club Racing LLC. Al Sakba has remained unbeaten in 3 starts while Drager was still a maiden. But to the joy of the crowd, first to cross the line was Drager, with Al Sakba coming second, beaten by 5,5 lengths.

The Moscow Derby has attracted all the leading  4-year-olds of Russia. Apart from the local favorites tough competition was provided by several visitors. Moscow residents' entry included:  Khrenovoe Stud top-performer Courier, the season's sensation Probel, Oaks winner Blagodat and French bred Albac Du Monteil.  The visitors team consisted of the Kazan Racetrack top performers Agor and Podium, joined by the 2006 Pyatigorsk Oaks taker Guppi. Courier and his stablemate Digiset have hit the front right away, raising victory hopes for the Khrenovoe. Courier pulled very hard, reflecting that he would prefer a shorter trip. In the final turn Khrenovoe pair were caught and passed by Probel and Albac du Monteil. In the homestretch Probel dug deep to secure his lead and scored by a comfortable margin of  1,5 lengths. Courier and Digiset completed the quinella accordingly.

Russian Cup turned out to be least intriguing race of the day. It developped into a one horse show as the leading elder horse of the country – 5 yo Roslind by Dormane led all the way from start to finish to win by a street. He was followed by Vong and Pingvin. In fact the only one to beat the mighty Roslind this season was Probel in the 2000 meters Entrance Stakes in May.

Certainly this was a very interesting day for all, with several performances of extra-class, which makes us believe that continuing support from U.A.E. Equestrian and Racing Federation will further promote Arabian racing not only domestically, but also internationally.
